- Onsite Service – We do 95% of our work at your home or office. Why? To provide better service and higher security. By understanding your entire installed technology environment, whether it is 1 computer or 20, we can deliver a more effective level of service. Your data security is also increased by all of your data staying at your home or office. You never have to worry about your personal documents, email, financial information, photos or other data ending up who knows where.

Consumer Advocate
Home Technology Solutions functions as a consumer advocate for our clients by providing unbiased information and support to help you get the best products, components and pricing for your needs. We do not sell computers or other technology products. You never have to worry about us trying to sell you a product because we have 10 of them in the warehouse that we need to get rid of. Our knowledge, experience and service are our primary products.
Our Rates & Billing Policy:
In keeping with our policy of “simplicity” our rates are very straightforward. Home Technology Solutions provides our services onsite at your location with a one hour minimum charge. Payment is due at time of service in the form of check or cash. Further policy details:
- There is a one-hour minimum charge for all visits.
- We bill in half-hour increments after the first hour. Charges are rounded to the nearest half-hour.
- Cancellations of an appointment with less than 24 hours notice will result in a one hour charge.
- Payment is due at the time of service.
- We accept cash and checks but not credit cards.
- Time spent procuring products will be billed at our standard rate.
- We do not charge for travel time on most work in Marin. We will tell you in advance if there will be any charge for travel.
Our Services Include:
Computer Repairs, Troubleshooting and Support
Identifying, isolating and resolving hardware, software, networking and Internet connection problems. Repair of components may not be feasible to do onsite and may require doing the work in our shop.

Utilizing the optimal tools and configurations to make your computers and network secure. Protecting your valuable data and identity information from theft.
Wireless and Wired Network Installation and Support
Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and management of wired and wireless (wifi) networks. Assistance in upgrading network technologies and configuring wireless network security options.
Data Recovery Backup and Protection
Data Recovery services for malfunctioning computers and hard disk drives. Identifying your needs and requirements for data security and backup. Assistance in the installation and usage of the optimal data security and backup solutions including both onsite and Internet backup options.
New Computer System Setup and Configuration
Taking a new computer from out-of-the-box to a fully functioning system securely connected to the Internet. Includes software installation, security software installation and configuration, installation of any necessary downloads or updates and installation of any data from a previous computer.
Virus and Spyware Removal & Spam Control
Installation and configuration of computer security solutions including Internet security suites, antivirus software, spyware removal software, firewall software and spam prevention solutions. Clean up of existing virus, spyware, adware, and other computer and network security problems.
Data Migration from Old to New Systems
New computers are great, but there can be a bit of work in moving data, system settings, bookmarks, favorites, desktop items and software configuration settings from one computer to another. We can simplify this sometimes complex process for you.
Email Configuration and Support
Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of your email connections and client software. Assistance in migrating from one email system to another.
Preventative Maintenance and System Tune Ups
Proactive maintenance to address issues before they become problems and keep your technology environment up and running smoothly. Providing preventative maintenance methods and tools.
